School Nutrition Association of Kansas

SNAKS is a nonprofit professional association whose membership is made up of school nutrition personnel, educators and industry partners from across the State of Kansas.

SNAKS members are interested in the mental and physical well-being of the nation's children and in professional and personal development.

SNAKS is the Kansas affiliate of the School Nutrition Association (SNA) which is a national organization with almost 60,000 members.

SNAKS is governed by an Executive Board consisting of 13 voting positions.  The Board meets 4 times per year.

SNAKS has 11 committees that assist in the operation of the association.  The committee chairs are appointed by the President and committee members are selected from throughout the State.

SNAKS plans and promotes an annual Fall Conference where members are exposed to new ideas, find out about new products, develop leadership skills and share information with their peers.

SNAKS also conducts an annual Legislative Action Conference and a Spring Professional Development Day.

SNAKS sponsors special events such as National School Lunch Week, Kansas School Lunch Week and National School Breakfast Week.

SNAKS members have many opportunities to receive special recognition, awards, and educational scholarships.
